Rain darkened the sky from Thursday morning after Wednesday. According to Alipur Meteorological Office, the depression in the Bay of Bengal has lost its strength. However, due to this, an active cyclone has formed in South Chhattisgarh. There is an axis from North Konkan to South Bangladesh that passes over this Chhatrisgarh gyre.
As a result, heavy rain warning has been issued in South Bengal today in all districts of South Bengal including Kolkata. The Alipore Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain in East Burdwan, West Burdwan North and South 24 Parganas and East Midnipur. Also heavy rain warning today in Purulia, West Burdwan, Birbhum and Murshidabad districts.
